inRiver Pricing (2026)

inRiver pricing is quote-based. inRiver sells its SaaS PIM in four plans (Foundation, Core, Professional and Enterprise), but publishes no prices: each plan is customised and quoted by inRiver’s sales team. The price depends on the plan, modules, products, users and markets. Implementation, integrations and data migration are extra.

inRiver pricing matters most to B2B manufacturers and brands, inRiver’s core market, who need to budget a PIM before they can talk to sales. This guide explains, as of October 2026, inRiver’s four plans, what drives the price, the costs on top of the licence, and the alternatives worth comparing.

Source: inRiver plans, October 2026. inRiver describes every plan as customisable, so two companies on the same plan can pay different amounts.

The four inRiver plans

  • Foundation: entry-level PIM, one central source for market-ready product data, with user workflows to improve data quality.
  • Core: adds syndication to keep sales channels consistent and a self-serve storefront for brand assets.
  • Professional: adds expanded PIM capabilities, product relationships for upsell, cross-sell and bundles, and Digital Shelf Analytics to track how products perform online.
  • Enterprise: the most complete plan, with more flexibility for your technology stack, more endpoints and markets, and global control of product information.

The jump between plans is usually driven by syndication, analytics and the number of markets, so check which plan your must-have features sit in before you ask for a quote.

What drives inRiver pricing

  • Plan: Foundation, Core, Professional or Enterprise.
  • Modules: syndication, Digital Shelf Analytics, supplier onboarding or AI features, where they are add-ons rather than part of the plan.
  • Products and complexity: the size of your catalog and data model.
  • Users and markets: how many people use inRiver, and in how many countries and languages.
  • Contract terms: contract length, overage charges and the annual increase at renewal.

The costs on top of the licence

  • Implementation: data model (entities, fields and links), workflows, channels and training, usually with an inRiver partner.
  • Integrations: your ERP and PLM on the way in; eCommerce, marketplaces and print on the way out.
  • Data migration: cleaning and loading your product data; see our PIM data migration checklist.
  • Your own team: product data owners and an administrator after go-live.

Which inRiver plan do you need?

Because inRiver’s plans build on each other, the quickest way to estimate your plan is to start from your must-have features:

If you needYou are probably looking at
One central product record and data-quality workflowsFoundation
Syndication to your channels and a self-serve portal for brand assetsCore
Product relationships (upsell, cross-sell, bundles) and Digital Shelf AnalyticsProfessional
Many markets and endpoints, global governance and maximum flexibilityEnterprise

Two checks before you accept a plan recommendation. First, ask whether any of your must-haves are add-ons rather than part of the plan, because that changes the comparison with other vendors. Second, ask what triggers a move to the next plan, such as more markets, endpoints or users, so you know your price in three years.

Worked example: what shapes an inRiver quote

Here is a typical B2B scope, without dollar amounts (they depend on your quote and your partner’s rates):

  • The company: an industrial manufacturer with about 30,000 products, technical specifications and drawings, 6 markets and 4 languages, selling through distributors, its own B2B portal and a few marketplaces.
  • Likely plan: Core or Professional. Core covers syndication to distributors and the portal. Professional adds product relationships (spare parts, accessories, kits), which matter a lot in industrial catalogs, and Digital Shelf Analytics for the marketplaces.

What comes on top in year 1:

  1. Implementation: entity model, fields, links and channel structures.
  2. Integrations: ERP and PLM on the way in; the B2B portal, distributor feeds and print catalogs on the way out.
  3. Data migration: technical data from spreadsheets and legacy systems, often the hardest part.
  4. Training and an internal PIM administrator.

In B2B scopes like this, the data model and the PLM integration usually decide the timeline and the implementation cost, much more than the plan itself.

inRiver pricing: total cost over three years

The licence is only one line in a PIM budget. When you compare inRiver with other platforms, compare the three-year total cost, built from these lines:

  • Subscription: years 1 to 3, including the renewal increase written in the contract.
  • Implementation: a one-off cost in year 1, plus a smaller phase 2 if you roll out more markets or channels later.
  • Integrations: building the ERP, PLM and channel integrations, then maintaining them when either side changes.
  • Data migration: mostly in year 1, but plan for cleaning legacy data you only discover during the project.
  • People: a PIM administrator and the product data owners in each market.
  • Change: new markets, languages, channels and product lines, each of which can move you to a higher plan.

Spreading the one-off costs over three years usually shows that implementation and people cost more than the licence. That is why a cheaper licence does not always mean a cheaper project, and why inRiver can compare well with “cheaper” platforms when its standard features cover what you would otherwise build.

Is inRiver pricing worth it?

inRiver tends to be worth its price when you sell through many channels and markets, your products need rich content and relationships, and you want a SaaS platform your business teams can run without developers. It is a strong fit for B2B manufacturers and brands that want to improve how their products are presented to distributors and buyers.

It is harder to justify when your catalog is small and simple (Plytix or Akeneo may be enough), when you need customer, supplier or location master data as well (consider Pimcore or Stibo STEP), or when you want to host and own the platform yourself (Pimcore).

inRiver pricing for mid-market companies

inRiver’s Foundation and Core plans are aimed at small, growing and mid-market businesses, so mid-market companies are squarely in its target market. The question for them is usually not whether inRiver can do the job, but whether its subscription is the best use of the budget compared with a lower-cost SaaS PIM or an open-source platform.

Three things help you decide. First, list the features you will use in year 1 and year 3, and check which plan they fall into. Second, compare the three-year total cost, not the licence, with at least one alternative on the same scope. Third, consider who will run the platform: inRiver suits teams that want a managed SaaS product, while an open-source platform such as Pimcore suits teams with developers who want full control.

Questions to ask inRiver sales

  1. Which plan do you recommend for our scope, and why not the one below it?
  2. Which of our must-have features are add-ons?
  3. What do overages cost (users, products, endpoints, markets)?
  4. What is the maximum price increase at renewal?
  5. Who implements: inRiver, a partner, or our team, and at what cost?
  6. How do we export our data and assets if we leave?

How Credencys helps with inRiver pricing

We are independent inRiver consultants: we are partners of Pimcore and Syndigo, not of inRiver, so our advice on plans and quotes has no commission attached. We help you work out which inRiver plan you actually need, check the quote and the implementation estimate against your requirements, plan integrations and data migration, and compare inRiver with alternatives on the same scope. If you are already on inRiver, we can run a health check or review a project that is running. See inRiver implementation consulting.

FAQ

How much does inRiver cost?

inRiver does not publish prices. It offers four customisable plans (Foundation, Core, Professional and Enterprise) and quotes each customer based on plan, modules, products, users and markets. Implementation, integrations and data migration are extra, so budget for the total cost, not just the licence.

Does inRiver have a free plan or trial?

inRiver does not list a free plan; its website directs you to a representative for a demo and quote. If you need a free starting point, Pimcore and Akeneo offer free Community Editions, although hosting, implementation and support still cost money.

What is included in inRiver’s plans?

Foundation covers the core PIM and workflows. Core adds syndication and a brand-asset storefront. Professional adds product relationships and Digital Shelf Analytics. Enterprise adds the most flexibility, endpoints and markets. inRiver customises each plan, so confirm what is in your quote.

Is inRiver good for B2B?

Yes. inRiver is widely used by B2B manufacturers and brands, thanks to its flexible entity-and-link data model and product storytelling. For very complex technical data, or if you need master data beyond products, compare it with Pimcore or Stibo STEP.

What are cheaper alternatives to inRiver?

For mid-market companies, the usual alternatives are Akeneo (free Community Edition and SaaS Growth Edition), Pimcore (free Community Edition plus paid editions) and Plytix for smaller catalogs. Compare them on your own requirements; implementation often matters more than the licence.
