Salsify Pricing (2026)

Salsify pricing is quote-based: Salsify does not publish prices or plans on its website. You get an annual subscription quote based mainly on the number of products (SKUs), the modules you need (such as PIM, digital assets and syndication to retailers), and the level of support. Implementation and integrations are extra.

Salsify pricing is hard to find because there is no public price list: every quote is built for the customer. That makes it difficult to budget, and difficult to tell whether a quote is fair. This guide explains, as of October 2026, how Salsify is priced, what drives the cost, what you pay on top of the subscription, and how Salsify compares with Syndigo and Pimcore.

You may see “starting from” prices for Salsify on software review sites. Salsify does not confirm them, and they rarely say what is included, so treat any number you find as a rough guide at best.

How Salsify is priced

Salsify sells its product experience management (PXM) platform as a subscription. Rather than fixed plans, the quote is built from the parts you need:

  • Product information management: the central product record, data model, workflows and completeness.
  • Digital assets: images, videos and documents linked to products.
  • Syndication: sending product content in the format each retailer and marketplace requires, one of the main reasons brands choose Salsify.
  • Enhanced content and digital shelf: richer retailer pages and insight into how products appear and perform on retailer sites.

The more of these you need, and the more products and channels they cover, the higher the subscription.

What drives Salsify pricing

  • Number of SKUs: the most commonly reported driver. Ask how the price changes when your catalog grows.
  • Modules: which of the capabilities above are in scope.
  • Retailers and channels: how many retailers, marketplaces and stores you send content to. Ask whether retailer connections and API access are included or billed separately.
  • Users and brands: how many people and brands work in the platform.
  • Support and services: standard or premium support, and any services Salsify delivers itself.
  • Contract terms: contract length and the annual increase at renewal.

The costs on top of the subscription

Like every PIM, Salsify’s total cost includes more than the licence:

  • Implementation: requirements, data model, retailer mapping, configuration and training, often with a Salsify partner.
  • Integrations: with your ERP (where product and price data usually starts), your DAM and your eCommerce platform.
  • Data migration: cleaning and loading your existing product data. Our PIM data migration checklist shows the steps.
  • Your own team: the people who will own product content after go-live.

Worked example: what shapes a Salsify quote

Here is a typical scope, without dollar amounts (they depend on your quote and your partner’s rates):

  • The company: a consumer brand with about 5,000 SKUs across 3 brands, selling through 12 retailers and marketplaces (including Amazon and Walmart) and its own store, with images, videos and nutrition or safety data for every product.

What Salsify would quote on:

  1. The SKU volume, including how many SKUs you expect in three years.
  2. PIM and digital assets for all three brands.
  3. Syndication to the 12 retailers, and whether each retailer connection is included.
  4. Enhanced content and digital shelf insight, if the brand wants richer retailer pages and performance data.
  5. Users, support level and contract length.

What comes on top in year 1:

  1. Implementation: data model, retailer mapping and workflows.
  2. Integrations: with the ERP and the brand’s own store.
  3. Data migration: cleaning and loading 5,000 SKUs and their assets.
  4. Internal time from the eCommerce and product teams.

The biggest swing factor in a scope like this is usually retailer requirements. Each retailer has its own attributes, image rules and approval process, and mapping them takes most of the implementation effort. A brand that adds retailers every year should agree the cost of new connections upfront.

When Salsify is worth the price

Salsify tends to justify its cost when:

  • Retailer content drives your revenue, and getting products live faster on Amazon, Walmart, Target and other retailers has a clear value.
  • Your team is commercial, not technical: marketing and eCommerce teams can run Salsify without developers.
  • You want one vendor for product content, assets and syndication, rather than a PIM plus separate syndication tools.

It is harder to justify when your data is complex B2B data, when you need master data beyond products, or when most of your sales go through your own channels rather than retailers. In those cases compare it with Pimcore, Akeneo or inRiver.

10 questions to ask Salsify sales

  1. Which modules are in the quote, and which features need an add-on?
  2. How many SKUs does the quote cover, and what happens when we exceed them?
  3. Are retailer and marketplace connections included, and is there a limit?
  4. Is API access included, and are there usage limits?
  5. How many users and brands are included?
  6. What support level is included, and what does premium support add?
  7. What is the maximum price increase at renewal?
  8. Who implements: Salsify, a partner, or our team, and at what cost?
  9. What does the typical time to go-live look like for a scope like ours?
  10. How do we export our data if we leave?

Salsify pricing for small brands and for enterprises

Salsify’s pricing works differently depending on your size.

Small and emerging brands with a few hundred to a few thousand SKUs often find that the subscription is a large share of their eCommerce budget. If you sell through only a handful of retailers, check whether a simpler PIM with feed tools covers your needs, or whether a retailer’s own content portal is enough for now. If retailer growth is your strategy, negotiate a starting scope with clear growth pricing.

Enterprises with many brands, tens of thousands of SKUs and dozens of retailers usually get the most value from Salsify’s syndication and digital shelf features, but also have the most complex quotes. At this size, the cost of each additional brand, retailer and user, and the renewal cap, matter more than the starting price.

Salsify pricing: 5 mistakes to avoid

  1. Quoting today’s catalog only. If you plan to add brands or SKUs, get the price at your three-year size now, while you still have negotiating power.
  2. Assuming every retailer connection is included. Confirm which retailers and marketplaces are in scope, and what a new one costs.
  3. Comparing licences instead of total cost. A lower subscription can come with a bigger implementation, or the other way round. Compare three-year totals.
  4. Underestimating data preparation. Retailer requirements expose every gap in your product data. Budget time for cleaning and enrichment, not only for configuration.
  5. Ignoring the exit. Ask how you export products, properties and assets, in which format, and whether it costs anything. It protects you at renewal.

How to negotiate a Salsify quote

  1. Know your numbers: SKUs today and in three years, retailers and channels, users and brands. Use our free PIM RFP template to list your requirements.
  2. Ask for a line-by-line quote: modules, SKU tier, channels, support and services, each priced separately.
  3. Agree growth pricing upfront: what you pay when you add SKUs, brands or retailers, and the cap on the renewal increase.
  4. Get the implementation quoted on the same scope by Salsify or a partner.
  5. Get a comparison quote from at least one alternative, on the same requirements.

How Credencys helps with Salsify pricing

We are independent Salsify consultants: we are partners of Pimcore and Syndigo, not of Salsify, so we can look at a Salsify quote with no stake in the outcome. We help you define the scope Salsify should quote on, check the quote and the implementation estimate, plan integrations and data migration, and compare Salsify with alternatives on the same requirements. If you have already chosen Salsify, we can design the data model and retailer mapping, or review a project that is running. See Salsify implementation consulting.

FAQ

How much does Salsify cost?

Salsify does not publish prices. It sells an annual subscription quoted per customer, mainly based on the number of products, the modules you need and your support level. Implementation, integrations and data migration are extra. Ask Salsify for a quote on your exact scope and compare it with alternatives.

Does Salsify have a free plan?

No. Salsify does not offer a free plan or a free edition. If you need a free starting point, Pimcore and Akeneo both offer free Community Editions, although you still pay for hosting, implementation and support.

Why is Salsify pricing not public?

Because every quote is built from the customer’s SKUs, modules, channels and support level. That is common for enterprise PIM vendors, including Syndigo, inRiver and Stibo. It makes a clear requirements document essential, so that quotes from different vendors can be compared fairly.

Is Salsify more expensive than Akeneo?

It can be, especially for mid-market companies, partly because Akeneo also offers a free Community Edition. But both paid products are quoted, and the total cost depends mostly on implementation and integrations. See our guide to Akeneo pricing.

What are the alternatives to Salsify?

The most common are Syndigo, Pimcore, Akeneo and inRiver, plus Plytix for smaller teams. Our guide to Salsify alternatives compares eight of them by use case and pricing model.
